Michael Jordan’s Iconic Air Jordan 11 Gets a New ‘Igloo’ Update for Summer

On paper, Igloo Air Jordans may sound like a sneaker best suited for winter, but instead, Nike Inc.’s Jordan Brand has given a classic model a new look that is sure to be a street staple come summertime.

The women’s-exclusive Air Jordan 11 Retro Low Igloo is less than a month away from its release and with that comes a batch of detailed Nike product images. Rather than the elevated material approach sometimes used on Air Jordan 11 women’s styles, this new colorway keeps things classic with a two-tone ballistic mesh and patent leather upper. Fit for summer, the pair uses a crisp white upper that’s contrasted by an Igloo green mudguard. The soft green shade is also seen on the shoe’s liner, heel and tongue branding and translucent outsole. 

Air Jordan 11 Retro Lows have become constants in Jordan Brand’s summer lineups. Women’s colorways in particular have been a focus recently, with a “Legend Pink” iteration in June 2024, a yellow snakeskin style in May 2023, a “Pure Violet” release in April 2022 , a “Bright Citrus” variation in May 2021 and a “White Concord” pair in July 2020. More recently, in April, the Air Jordan 11 Retro Low was released in a black-and-red Bred look based on a Michael Jordan player exclusive from the 1990s.

Low-top variations of Air Jordan sneakers have historically been hit-or-miss with fans, but the Air Jordan 11 is usually an exception. In addition to the patent leather-adorned take-down, there’s also a model known as the Air Jordan 11 Low IE which features a fully redesigned upper.

While the Air Jordan 11 Retro Low has been established as a warm weather sneaker, standard mid-top Air Jordan 11s are usually released during the holiday season. In years past, Nike’s earnings calls have touted holiday Air Jordan 11 launches as among the biggest in company history.

The Air Jordan 11 Retro Low Igloo will be released in women’s, preschool and toddler sizes on June 7 from the Snkrs app and select Jordan Brand retailers. The sku for women’s sizing is AH7860-103 and it will retail for $190.
