Stock Market LIVE: GIFT Nifty signals negative open; Most Asian markets fall; Brent tops $90

Sensex Today | Stock Market LIVE Updates, Monday, Aug 31, 2026: The GIFT Nifty indicated that the Nifty50 may open on a negative note as rising oil prices and concern about a rate hike in the US dented risk sentiment. The futures were quoted at 24,239, down 103 points. 

 

Most Asian markets declined in early trading as US Federal Reserve Chair Kevin Warsh’s hawkish comments at the Jackson Hole Symposium raised concerns about a possible rate hike as soon as next month. Japan’s Nikkei 225 and South Korea’s Kospi were trading 1.8 per cent and 2.4 per cent down, respectively. 

 

Last Friday, the Dow Jones Industrial Average and the S&P 500 ended 0.02 per cent and 0.3 per cent down, respectively. The Nasdaq Composite settled 0.52 per cent lower. 

 

Oil prices extended gains on Monday morning after the US hit Iranian rocket launchers as they were preparing to send mines to the Strait of Hormuz, ending weeks of relative calm. The September futures were quoted at $90.35, up 2.34 per cent. 

 

Gold and silver futures were trading 0.85 per cent and 133 per cent down, respectively.

 

IPO Today

 

Purple Style Labs‘ initial public offer (IPO) will open for subscription on Monday. In the SME segment, three IPOs are also opening for subscription. These are Ashutosh Fibre, Shanti Inorganics, and Phychem Technologies. 

 

Priority Jewels and ESDS Software Solutions IPOs are entering the second day of subscription. 

 

Similarly, Complete Sports and Management and Paluck Technologies IPOs will also open for the second day of subscription.

 

Lumino Industries and Kwick Forensic Solutions IPOs are entering the final day of subscription. 

 

IPO Listing Today

 

Augmont Enterprises will debut on the exchanges on Friday. The Grey Market Premium (GMP) was quoted at ₹290, indicating a listing price of ₹1,078, a premium of 36.80 per cent above the issue price of ₹788.
