Emma Roberts, Lindsey Vonn and Tate McRae Serve Major Style to Kick Off the 2026 U.S. Open

The stars aligned for the opening matches and USTA Foundation Gala as the 2026 U.S. Open main draw began Sunday at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in New York City. Emma Roberts, Lindsey Vonn and more ushered in the final Grand Slam tennis tournament of the year in style, wearing pieces by Ferragamo, Ulla Johnson and more.

Celebrities gave the trends associated with the Grand Slam their own spin, from athleisure to tenniscore and some quiet luxury moments as well. WWD breaks down those looks and more ahead.

Emma Roberts

Roberts wore a dress from Ferragamo’s resort 2027 collection on the blue carpet. The “American Horror Story” star’s boxy slipdress featured a polka-dot pattern across the bust, with sharp lines and shades of blue, brown and burnt sienna. Roberts coordinated the dress with a Ferragamo bag and black-and-white heels, along with dark Oliver Peoples sunglasses.

Kate Walsh

Kate Walsh wore Ulla Johnson’s Celestina gown. The sleeveless dress included a defined waist with a muted, earthy botanical pattern throughout. The “Grey’s Anatomy” alum added Chanel and Gucci to complete her look.

Lindsey Vonn

Vonn popped in a vibrant green dress. The Olympic gold medalist’s look had a sleeveless, figure-fitting silhouette with a wrap detail at the drop waist. Draping continued through the skirt, giving the dress subtle dimension.

Brandy

Brandy also got the bold color cue in a look by Versace. The singer and actress wore a printed silk twill shirt in shades of black, white, purple, blue and green with a coordinated printed silk twill pleated miniskirt, nodding to the tenniscore trend. She added a scarf in the same pattern and a pair of loafers from the Italian luxury fashion house.

Tate McRae

Tate McRae elevated athleisure in a look by Adidas. The “Sports Car” singer wore a black knit cardigan with the brand’s white logo at the shoulder, along with Adidas Stan Smith sneakers. She also carried a Gucci shoulder bag.

The 2026 U.S. Open kicked off on Sunday and runs through Sept. 13. Aryna Sabalenka vies for a three-peat with another women’s singles championship title, while Carlos Alcaraz marks his return to the sport. American tennis stars like Coco Gauff, Jessica Pegula and more will compete in the final Grand Slam of the season.
