MMDR Bill tweak: NMDC flags ₹15,786 crore Karnataka tax exposure



NMDC, India’s largest iron ore miner, has disclosed a potential liability of ₹15,785.72 crore from Karnataka’s proposed retrospective tax on mineral rights and mineral-bearing land, highlighting the extent of the company’s liabilities that could be affected by the Mines and Minerals (Development and Regulation) Amendment Bill, 2026, passed by Parliament last week.
